Hyvä Migration
Moving from Luma to Hyvä gives you a faster storefront and a much simpler frontend. I plan it module by module so the store keeps running normally throughout.
Why Hyvä
Luma loads hundreds of RequireJS modules and Knockout templates. Hyvä swaps all of that for Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js. In practice that means a lot less JavaScript, simpler templates, and frontend developers who can get productive in days instead of months.
How I approach it
I plan the migration around your extensions rather than the theme. Every third-party module gets checked at the start, so nothing nasty turns up halfway through.
